Nails Of The Season

As you know, Dolls, a fact that's never changed is that I love, love, love getting my nails done. However, I go through phases where I'm particularly into certain styles over others. It's always a combination of factors: what I'm doing for work, what seasonal colour is in and what look I'm meshing with. This season of obsession is arguably the most perfectly Shopaholic one yet!
SHAPE:
This year's working girl status has been: receptionist. All eyes were on my hands as I typed away on keyboards, wrote down client details and answered phone calls. So my nails, obviously, had to be incredibly cute without compromising their ability to perform my work duties. I was forced to seriously cut down on length from my previous season of face-to-face work that involved little to none in the name of length restriction. Last season, my shape of choice was coffin because a long coffin nail shapes fingers in such a way that they reach their elongated prime... They're stunning! But if I were to get coffin this season, for practicality, I would have to get a short coffin nail, which in my opinion, would completely defeat the purpose of why you should get the coffin shape. I hate a short coffin nail. So, in addition to a length change, I had to decide what shape would be in for my new season of Luka. I had a few options: ballerina, almond or square. My deciding factor came down to a source of inspiration. At my receptionist job, I'd made friends with an aesthetic Doll who seemed like a princess to me, from her perfect hair to her exceptionally sweet personality and to her almond nails! In short, I 100% copied her in the hopes of giving off princess energy for my new nail season.

DESIGN:
My colleague's nails were never not screaming attention to detail which was the theme I decided I wanted to make mine for this new season. Without my usual nail shape or length, I felt that experimenting with my colour palette and design versatility would invite the thrill that getting my nails done has always given me. And spoiler alert, Dolls, it did! I became obsessed with scrolling through Pinterest for nail art inspiration and would often combine 2-3 different designs to create one of my own. For example, if I saw pink love hearts, I'd personalise it by asking for the same pink colour but with the nail art of bows instead of hearts. In the end, Dolls, these are two examples of nails I excitedly walked out of the salon with:

In summary, Dolls, this season's nails of the season are medium almond nails using the colour scheme of pink and most essentially, with the additional requirement of a nail art design on at least one nail. I'm not obsessed, you are!
