WHAT I KNOW ABOUT LOVE

I am only 22, Dolls, so I know I have yet to learn many things about love. But I believe in my short time on Earth, I have learnt more about love than what many learn in their whole lives; I've had love destroy me, and I've also had it complete me. This is what I know about love.
Discovery - What I know about love is that it finds you when you don’t want to be found, when you think the world is black and hate is all around. The hummingbirds of love sing your name in the trees with their hope in you and their belief in you. What I know about love is that it fights for you when you’re oh, so tired, exhausted. It will make you feel worth it, just as you feel that the world has taken everything from you and you have no place left in it. I know that love has no sense of timing except for when it does, and everything for the first time in your life feels perfect, good, and true. What I know about love is that it changes the colour in your water from grey, green sea moss to aqua, crystal blue.
Not true - What I know about love is that it can be wrong, and when it’s wrong, it kills. What I know about a wrong love is that it whispers like a ghost in the trees, the leaves bustling like one million little critters each time ‘I love you’ is spoken. What I know about a wrong love is that it eats you from the inside out, ravaging your heart, mind, and soul before anybody can notice the signs on the outside. What I know about this type of love is that it’s evil and conniving, gut-wrenchingly painful, a slow, prolonged death of the heart, a torturous song that only knows how to pause and not how to stop. A wrong love breaks everything you thought you knew about love, as though it were all just a big little lie, dismantling and crumbling the building you spent a lifetime building. Its destruction burns each sandstone brick to a pile of ash in the concaving ground.
Everything & more - What I know about love is that you'll do anything for it. I know that you'll go places you don't want to go, do things you are scared to do and things you don't want to do. I know that what you'll do will know no bounds. I know that that will feel wrong, but it will also feel powerful as you flourish from a caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly who flies to heights that had only been imagined in its dreams. What I know about love is that you'll surrender to your fears for a greater good, love being the greatest.
I know that I don’t know everything that there is to know about love. But despite its disadvantages, I can’t wait until I get to find out.
Kisses,
COS x
