The Secret

The secret is, there's a secret to finding love, and I know what that secret is. Like the line from my favourite movie: 'If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around.' I've learnt that if you're breeding hateful thoughts, the misery that is hatefulness will follow you like a shadow, lingering, even in the sun, especially in the sun. The secret to finding love is noticing it in places that seem small and making grand things out of them.

I made a new friend, Dolls, and it's been pleasurable to remember the simplicity of friendship love - the conversation, chatter, secrets, silliness, gossip... all of it. I remind myself in our moments of delight to be present, count my lucky stars and allow myself to relish in the feeling of cloud nine and the fundamental beauty in having somebody who likes you and embraces you just as you are.

It took me a long time to begin expressing myself because I didn't accept the person I was.

I think it's very difficult to be extroverted when you fear the response of the world.

So, when I began to find myself as an individual, I found beauty in the pathways that were paved for me. I delved into the world of hair dye, tattoos, piercings and obviously, as you Dolls know, fashion! Suddenly, I was an avatar, and the idea that I could choose everything about the way I appeared was exciting. It is a joyful task to begin seeking comfort in change, especially because change can make you feel out of control. Instead, I am learning to replace that feeling with excitement, fun and freedom. The secret is that everybody has the spark and desire to be who they want to be in them all along, it is just those who are brave enough to look who can harness it.

The world is where beauty all begins. Beauty is interlaced within the people who live within the world as well as the world itself. And this is perhaps one of my favourite secrets, Dolls, because the world is always all around you, meaning that there is an endless supply of opportunities to feel its effects. Nature is a part of every moment of the day, and when you witness and appreciate it, it can mean big things. A sunrise, a drop of rain, or a cobweb... All things that perhaps seem ordinary at times, but are, in fact, inextricably wonderful things that don't have to be ordinary if you don't want them to be. If you allow them to ground you, they can become extraordinary. The secret is that what you seek is something within you and your response to the outside world. Phenomenal, Dolls, truly.

I believe it to be true, Dolls, that love is under rocks. I say rocks because sometimes it can be heavy to lift the beauty beneath. I do not want to make it appear that this secret is completely simple. Uncovering anything, beautiful or not, secret or badly-kept, is meaningful, and meaning has weight.
